Rome Wrap Up
Last week I returned from my little citytrip to Rome, Italy.
1. Things to see
In Rome there are lots and lots of landmarks from historic pavilions to historic buildings to squares and colosseums but these are the ones that I enjoined visiting the most:
- Colosseum
- Foro Romano
- The Spanish Steps
- Musei Vaticani (the Vatican Museum)
- Basilica di San Pietro in Vaticano
- Cappella Sistina (unfortunately no pictures allowed)
- Piazza Navona
- Fontana di Trevi
2. Where to eat
If you are in Paris you definitely have to go to the authentic French brasserie:
- Babington’s Tea Room – Ideally located at the foot of the Spanish steps, and serving great thé and food.
- Antica Enoteca Capranica – More refined Italian dining located close to the Pantheon
- Hard Rock Cafe Rome – This is my regular stop wherever I am in the world.
3. Where to have coffee
- La Casa Del Caffe Tazza d’Oro – located close to the Pantheon and if you love coffee worth a detour
4. Shopping
If you are looking for anything from clothes to jewellery, then you can’t go wrong with going to the beautiful Via Condotti. This is where all the big brands have there shop in Rome from Rolex to Cartier, from Dolce & Gabbana to Salvatore Ferragamo and … This is also located at the Spanish Steps, so perfect to combine these two.
5. How to get everywhere
In a beautiful historic city as Rome there is no better way then by foot. But for those longer distances you can use the Rome Metro Underground Train system.
TIP: When walking in Rome the cars will only stop if you walk onto the crosswalks, otherwise you will be waiting a long time.
6. Guides
If you’re planning on going to Rome a great resource that I used is the Loney Planet website, as well as their mobile app and the Urban guide.
