Gear, Favorite Places, and Other Stuff
For Photography:
Canon R5 Camera
The Canon EOS R5 – Capture stunning 45 megapixel photos at up to 20 frames per second or press a button to capture 12-bit 8K RAW video using the full width of the device’s sensor. The advanced AF system was developed using deep learning and artificial intelligence, while the camera’s built-in image stabilizer works in tandem with the built-in lens stabilization to give you camera shake protection up to 8 speeds.
I waited a while before making the switch due to the EF to RF switch of all lenses that would also be required.
Canon 5D Mark IV DSLR Camera
The EOS 5D Mark IV used to be my main camera but is now my trustworthy backup.
Manfrotto tripods
As an architectural photographer one of your best friends is your tripod. You have to look for one that is sturdy, strong, lightweight and precise. I useย the Manfrotto MT055CXPRO4 Carbon Fiber tripod and Manfrotto head for architectural and interior shoots.
For travel I wanted a lightweight oneย and for thatย I choose the Manfrotto MKBFRA4D-BH.
DJI Drones
Apple MacBook Pro 16″ Retina
I’ve just gotten so fast with mac’s seamless integration between devices. It never freezes and doesn’t crash all the time and I love being able to work hours at a time while editing photos without any BS. You could say that I’m an apple fan.
Adobe Lightroom & Adobe Photoshop
Aย must have as a photographer. The creative options that it photoshop offersย are still the best around. If you have no Photoshop experience, I would start out with just Lightroom, which packs a lot of possibilities in a user-friendly app.
Other stuff:
Pelican Air
To safely travel with my gear I travel withย the Pelican Air 1535 and because the air is about 3 pounds lighter then my Pelican 1510 I can safely and easily keep it with me as a carry-on as well.
Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones
These keep me sane during those seemingly endless amounts of traveling I can do sometimes. On both long andย short flights, you arrive feeling refreshed and without fatigue.
Apple iPhone XV
When on the go there is no better tool to stay in touch and keep an eye on your e-mails then the iPhone. I pretty much never leave myย house without it.
External Hard Drives
There’s always work to be done, whether it’s in an airport, in a hotel room, or at home. These ensure that I can quickly and easily backup my photos and my work anywhere.
Basketballย
I grew up playing basketball, at one-point even playing on a national level. I don’t get to play nearly as much anymore as I want to but playing still clears my head.
Belgianย food
As I grew up in Belgium and we are known for our chocolate, waffles, beer and belgian fries, this needs no furtherย explanation.
Places
In no particular order these are some of my favorite places that I have been so far:
New York
The Big Apple, the feeling of a city that never sleeps, where there is always something to do is very intriguing and keeps drawing me in.ย Read my New York Wrap-Up for some of my favorite places.
Parisย
The city of light, walking along the Seine or through the rues in Paris during the day or night isย amazing.ย Read my Parisย Wrap-Up for more …
Bangkok
Bangkok was my very first city in Asia and I can honestly say that I fell in love with the culture, the history and the kindness that Bangkok and people had to offer.ย Read my Bangkok Wrap-Up for some of my favorite places.
Rome
The history off the city which is all-around you is just mesmerising. My favourite spot might be cliche but it is the Colosseo or Colosseum, just because of the history that you find in that building and the fact that their design is still being used to date in all stadium.
