2014 Wrap-Up

What a year it has been, it was not a real eventful year here on my blog (which I will definitely improve next year) but some great things did happen both personally as well as professionally for me in 2014.

The year started off with me officially becoming a permanent resident of Canada. This is one of the last steps that I needed to start my indefinite move to Canada in the coming years.

On June 8th, I obtained the title of “Qualified European Professional Photographer” (QEP) at the QEP-judging session held in Riga, Latvia. This as the youngest Belgian and the second youngest European ever to receive a QEP-title. For someone who is an autodidact, when it comes to photography, being recognised by your peers and allowed to join a group of 500 photographers (and only 18 architectural photographers) is extremely humbling.

My photos have been featured in a bunch of magazines again (Daeninck Magazine, DS Magazine, GG Magazine, Home & Trends, Logic-Immo, Network Magazine, Private Residences, Sabato, …), adding more to the list each and every year.

I am ending the year, just as it begun, with a personal win. Dropping 16 kilo or 35,3 pounds in about 7 weeks after eating healthier and starting to exercise again. Making me feel fitter and healthier to start the new year with a bang.

2014 was a year with ups and downs but overall another great experience and a great year. I hope to continue this trend into the new year with some new resolutions:

  • Posting more on my blog
  • More assignments abroad
  • Staying healthy

This was it for 2014, hope you had a great year as well and I wish you a happy and prosperous 2015.

Nick
